Intimate Creekside Wedding in Banner Elk, NC
Ashley and Mike fell in love with the Lodge at River Run during their many stays over the past few years. This was their little place of peace and relaxation in the mountains, and when they got engaged, they dreamed of having their wedding at this magical little getaway. After lots of careful planning and persuading, they convinced the owners to make their dreams come true! Then came Coronavirus. The stress of shutdowns, guest count limitations, and other restrictions challenged their wedding plans, and for several weeks, were searching for an alternative. But despite so much uncertainty, they decided to move forward, with just their closest family members, and have the slightly-smaller wedding of their dreams here in the mountains.
The lodge is gorgeous, but the grounds are what truly makes this place special. The creek, the old growth trees, and the beautiful landscape made for the perfect backdrop to their romantic and heartfelt ceremony. Afterwards, we took a little trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway and I photographed these newlyweds against the most breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. They ended their night with a private dinner and cocktails at their favorite local spot, Bodega’s! Every part of their wedding day was just so sweet and beautiful, and I am so honored to have been a part of it all!
