Lakeside Proposal in Banner Elk

I was so excited to plan and design this simple yet beautiful proposal in Banner Elk this winter, and despite a few unexpected challenges, it was such a success! This winter day ended up being one of the coldest, windiest days of the season, but Kaela was determined to propose no matter what. These two were on a vacation with Kaela’s family, and the weather forecast forced us to move this sunset, candlelit proposal to mid-day. We only had a narrow window to pull this thing off between downpours… The wind gusts were so extreme, that the setup I had dreamed up and put together had nearly blown off the dock. Champagne glasses broke. Flowers went flying. But the moment of shock and excitement on Rachel’s face was absolutely priceless. We had to cut things a little short, but I am so happy I was able to witness such a magical moment for these two!
